JOHN M. WILLIAMSON, CPA, MS TAXATION
John M. Williamson is a Managing Director at HLW Fund Services and is also a member of its Executive Board. John is responsible for ensuring that HLW Fund Services delivers the same high quality service and commitment to client satisfaction for which HLW has long been regarded.John is also HLW's Managing Partner, and has been with the Firm for 25 years. With an extensive accounting, auditing and tax background, he specializes in working with security partnerships, broker-dealers, offshore funds and registered investment advisers.
Prior to joining HLW in 1985, John worked with Bay Area accounting firm Hood & Strong, and prior to that, with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (now part of KPMG).
In addition to his duties at HLW, John serves on the Executive Committee of Hedge Funds Care, an organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. He is also a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Freight & Salvage Coffee House in Berkeley, a non-profit venue dedicated to public awareness and understanding of traditional music.
John is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration from Illinois College and his Master of Science degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
